A Bite of Memphis is an exciting community-oriented verbatim piece that delves into the heart and soul of Memphis by exploring the vibrant food culture of our city by interviewing chefs, restaurateurs, home cooks, food connoisseurs, and anyone who shares a passion for cooking and eating in Memphis. This production is a celebration of the flavors, stories, and traditions that make our city unique.

About Verbatim Theatre:

Verbatim theatre is a unique journalistic form of dramatic storytelling that is grounded in the use of real-life, spoken words from interviews, testimonies, or recorded conversations. This form of theatre is deeply rooted in authenticity and strives to present an accurate and unbiased representation of real people and their experiences.

About the Director: 

Nathan Markiewicz is a filmmaker and stage director based in Austin, TX. He holds a BFA from the University of Colorado and an MFA from East 15, University of Essex. He recently directed rapper/storyteller Josh Raff’s off-Broadway play Love/Love, which was awarded best one-man-show at the 2022 UnitedSolo Festival. Short films include Liberty and the Pursuit (2017) and Olan, TX (2023).
