Memphis Seed to Script Playwright Development Program
LoneTree Live is proud to produce the Memphis Seed to Script Playwright Development Program, a 10-week play development initiative designed to nurture emerging voices from the Mid-South. We’re working with passionate, imaginative playwrights who are ready to grow their work in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Emerging Memphis-area writers were selected to participate in this professional writing intensive with the goal of completing a first draft of an original, full-length play. There is no cost associated with this opportunity, thanks to the Tennessee Arts Commission, ARTSmemphis Arts Build Communities grant and LoneTree Live.

Participants will develop a full-length script with mentorship from nationally recognized playwright Evan Linder. They will engage in workshops, peer feedback, and one-on-one guidance, helping them strengthen both craft and voice and collaborate with a cohort of fellow writers, sharing insights, encouragement, and creative energy.
One participant’s play will be selected for a staged reading with LoneTree Live April 8 at 7:30pm at TheatreWorks at The Square, giving their work a chance to be performed for an audience.
