This is more than a performance, it is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event that directly supports the artists and future work of our company. In this internationally acclaimed theatrical experience, a different performer steps onstage each night and encounters the script for the very first time in front of a live audience. What unfolds is unrepeatable … spontaneous, intimate, disarming, often funny, sometimes unsettling, and always deeply human.
We recommend that you DO NOT read up on this play in order to maintain the mystery, so you may experience the performance as the playwright intends.
Performed at the historic Woodruff-Fontaine House, the setting deepens the atmosphere and closeness, placing audience and performer in rare proximity to something that will never be repeated in quite the same way again.

John Maness has been a regional actor and director for the last 30 years. He was most recently seen as Claudius in Hamlet at Theatre Memphis, Henry Lehman in The Lehman Trilogy at Circuit, and Mendel in Falsettos. John holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Memphis and an MFA in Directing from Indiana University. He was the Company Manager for the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia where he directed and performed in many of their shows, including Saint Joan, The Comedy of Errors, and The Roaring Girl. Other directing credits include, The Crucible (Theatre Memphis), All My Sons (GCT), Titus Andronicus (New Moon), and the regional premiere of Byhalia, MS (POTS at the Works). Regionally, he has performed as Orsino in Twelfth Night, John Adams in 1776, Iago in Othello, and the Chorus in Henry V. Other favorite roles include The Glass Menagerie (Tom), A Steady Rain (Joe), and Ragtime (Tateh), as well as the eponymous roles in Hamlet, Macbeth, Amadeus, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Marc Gill is a 4th year Resident Company Member at Playhouse on the Square, coming off his second run of Seussical as The Cat in the Hat and as Kenneth in the Circuit Playhouse production of Primary Trust. Marc attended DePaul University in Chicago, but is originally from Memphis. Relocating to the Twin Cities six years ago, Marc was heavily involved in children’s theatre. He performed with great companies like GTC Dramatics, Sidekick Theatre, and the Children’s Theatre Company. Audiences can see Marc next in Mean Girls and Frozen at Playhouse on the Square.
Natalie Jones has worked in Memphis theater since being a child in The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe at the old Circuit Playhouse. Theatre Memphis credits include Henrietta in Silent Sky, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Georgie in Heisenberg, Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Tracy in The Philadelphia Story, Tourvel in Dangerous Liaisons, and Gwen in The Royal Family. Additional credits include Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire at GCT and Emily in Disgraced at Circuit Playhouse. Natalie also spent time as a company member at Theatricum Botanicum in California, where she had the opportunity to work with Ellen Geer in rep. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Memphis. Can't wait to see "which way I out to go" with this script.
Chasity Alliston is a native of Oxford, Mississippi, and a proud performer celebrating 25 years in the arts. A passionate storyteller, educator, and advocate for the performing arts, Chasity has shared her love of theatre both onstage and in the classroom as a teacher with DeSoto County Schools.
Her performance journey has taken her from local stages to international audiences, including a month-long tour of Blues in the Night with Hattiloo Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her recent credits with Theatre Memphis include Paulette in Legally Blonde the Musical and Charlayne in Ain’t Misbehavin’. She is thrilled to return to the Theatre Memphis stage as Dyanne in the upcoming production of Million Dollar Quartet.
Chasity is honored to continue a lifelong journey of bringing unforgettable characters to life through music, storytelling, and the magic of live theatre. She remains grateful for every opportunity to create, inspire, and share the stage with incredible artists and audiences.
